A safe and uninterrupted power supply of the control components of wind turbines is essential for a safe and efficient wind energy generation. It is, for example, to prevent loss of position lights, failure of elevators or black out of the emergency stop systems and to ensure the continuous availability of the communications and control elements. To avoid interference and risks JOVYATLAS has developed UPS systems that meet the high requirements for wind turbines. JOVYATLAS' resistor systems are meeting the high requirements of the wind energy area. We are using diverse resistor elements like our HWS, SPR or MPR-grid systems in standard or special cabinets to design complete resistor systems. Stainless steel versions up to V4A are available on request. Approvals by DNV GL, LRoS, BV, RINA or Gost are possible.


Neutral grounding resistors both on nearshore transformer stations as well as on offshore platforms (where multiple AC transformers are installed) are of utmost importance. If a short circuit occurs, it is necessary to limit the short circuit current to a maximum value before trigger corresponding circuit breakers. For this application, JOVYATLAS produces starpoint earthing resistors in different designs and styles. Basic elements for these resistors are stainless steel mesh elements of type HWS and SPR. JOVYATLAS produces neutral - grounding resistors for a current up to 10 kA for 1 second and a withstand voltage up to 70 kV.


Braking resistors made by JOVYATLAS are used in wind turbines without inverters for speed control of generators e.g. in gusty winds. For wind turbines with inverters braking resistors are used to accommodate the excess energy in case of power wipers to absorb the energy of the inverter (acc. E.ON Directive 2003).


To ensure high quality of the electricity filter resistors made by JOVYATLAS are used in wind turbines. They filter the output voltage of the built-in wind turbine inverter and dampen occurring distortions at the inverter output. JOVYATLAS is recognized throughout the world for the outstanding reliability and high quality of the filter resistors.
